PETALING JAYA: Fashion retailer Padini Holdings Bhd recorded a slump in net profit to RM7mil for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2025 (4Q25), compared with RM26.3mil in the same quarter of the previous financial year, following a 13.9% decrease in revenue to RM392.1mil.

Compared to 3Q25, net profit in 4Q25 declined 90.3% from RM72mil on revenue that decreased 37.4% from RM626.8mil. For the financial year ended June 30, 2025 (FY25), Padini posted a 5.6% increase in net profit to RM154.8mil while revenue rose to RM1.93bil from RM1.91bil in FY24.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said that the retail business in general remains challenging due to the deterioration of consumer purchasing power stemming from rising cost of living, trade tensions, inflation and interest rates.

Padini remains optimistic that the company would perform satisfactorily in FY26 despite the challenges as it continues to provide value for money products, implement cost control measures, optimise capital, preserve cash and streamline operations to minimise adverse impacts.
