PETALING JAYA: Citaglobal Bhd, in a consortium with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar) and Tiza Global Sdn Bhd, has been shortlisted as a bidder for the development of a large-scale solar photovoltaic (LSS) plant of 200MW in Chereh Dam, Kuantan, Pahang.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the civil engineering and construction firm said the consortium submitted its bid under Package B (for development of floating solar farms with permitted generation capacity of 10MW to 500MW) for the LSS Petra 5+ in February 2025.

The company said a letter of notification dated Sept 2, 2025 was accepted from the Energy Commission (EC), notifying the consortium had been selected as a shortlisted bidder

“The consortium is one of the 13 shortlisted bidders who met all the requirements of the request for proposal that have been selected to carry out LSS projects under the LSS Petra 5+.

“The EC had received a total of 37 bids for the LSS Petra 5+. Upon completion, the 200-MW project will be South-East Asia’s largest floating solar power facility.”

Citaglobal said the project represents a strategic move by the company to diversify and strengthen its portfolio within the renewable energy sector, specifically within the solar segment, in line with its long-term growth strategy and sustainability objectives.

“The project will contribute to Malaysia’s national energy transition goals, particularly the target of achieving a 70% renewable energy capacity mix in the power sector by 2050,” it said, adding the project is expected to generate stable and recurring income streams for it.
