On the social platform X over the weekend, Musk discussed the possibility of launching 1 million tons of AI satellites into space every year to achieve his previously mentioned goal of deploying 100 gigawatts of artificial intelligence in space every year. Musk wrote, “It's already hard to find a simple source of electricity on Earth. One million tons/year of satellites, 100 kilowatts per satellite, adding 100 gigawatts of artificial intelligence per year, with no operating or maintenance costs, connected to the Starlink constellation via high-bandwidth lasers.” A netizen commented, “1 million tons means launching more than 25 Starship spacecraft every day!” Another netizen pointed out a post from Musk in August of this year: “In about 6 to 7 years, the Starship spacecraft will be launched more than 24 times in 24 hours.”
