European Council President Costa said on the 8th that it is unacceptable for the US to threaten to interfere in Europe's internal politics in its newly released national security strategy report. While attending the annual conference of the French think tank Jacques Delore Institute in Paris, Costa said that although the US continues to refer to Europe as an ally in the report, if it is an ally, it must act as an ally. “Allies do not threaten to interfere in the internal political lives of other allies, nor do they threaten to interfere with their domestic political choices.”
