What is Foreign Exchange Administration (FEA) declaration?

Foreign Exchange Administration (FEA) rules are a set of regulations implemented by Bank Negara Malaysia ("BNM") under the Financial Services Act 2013 and Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 to protect the value of the Malaysian currency.

We recommend that you consult the comprehensive and up-to-date set of FEA Rules available on Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)'s website at https://bnm.my.

These rules are applicable to existing Residents with Domestic Ringgit Borrowings (DRB), subject to an aggregate FEA investment limit of up to RM1 million (per calendar year).

There is no FEA investment limit for individuals without DRB, as well as for Non-Residents with or without DRB.
