Equities Cash vs Options Cash

When you trade both stocks and options, your funds are separated into two different accounts inside Webull.

🔵What Is Equities Cash?

This is your Stock Account.

Used for:

  • Long stock positions
  • Buying shares
  • Cash freeze for Cash-Secured Puts
(to ensure you have enough money if you are assigned shares)
👉 If it is related to STOCKS → it belongs in Equities Cash.

🔴 What Is Options Cash?

This is your Options Account.

Used for:

  • Paying for long calls / long puts
  • Receiving option premiums for short calls / short puts

👉 If it is related to OPTIONS → it belongs in Options Cash.

🟦 Why Cash-Secured Put Uses Equities Cash?

Because if your put is assigned:
➡️ You must buy the underlying shares
➡️ The system keeps the money inside the Stock Account
➡️ So the funds are ready for purchase

Simple logic:

Cash-Secured Put = requires buying shares → goes to Equities Cash

The Easiest Way to Remember

🔵 Equities Cash = Stock Account

Everything related to stocks.

🔴 Options Cash = Options Account

Everything related to options.
