Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) on Monday disclosed securing an approximately $14.7 billion undefinitized contract action from Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT).
The award allows Boeing to triple PAC-3 MSE seeker output under its previously announced seven-year framework agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense, supporting the department’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy and efforts to strengthen the nation’s Arsenal of Freedom.
According to Boeing, the PAC-3 seeker is an active Ka-band millimeter-wave radar guidance component mounted in the nose section of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) and PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles.
Boeing calls it the "eyes" of the missile during the final (terminal) phase of flight.
Boeing’s seekers equip Patriot interceptors to detect, track and engage advanced threats, including hostile aircraft and hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles.
To support higher production, Boeing has invested in its PAC-3 seeker facility, strengthened supplier relationships, upgraded facilities with advanced technology, and improved manufacturing processes and controls to enhance first-time quality.
Production expansion and hiring began earlier this year following the framework agreement, with the contract expected to create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the Huntsville, Alabama, area.
From a trend perspective, BA is still in a repair phase: the stock is trading 2.8% below its 20-day SMA and 12.3% below its 200-day SMA, which keeps rallies vulnerable to selling pressure near overhead averages. The longer-term backdrop also remains pressured by the death cross that formed in September (the 50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA).
Momentum is best framed through MACD right now: MACD is below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to upside pressure fading versus the prior upswing unless buyers can reassert control. In plain English, MACD compares two moving averages, and when it sits below the signal line, it often means the recent push higher is losing steam.
Looking further out, the next major catalyst for the stock arrives with the October 27, 2026 (confirmed) earnings report.
Analyst Consensus & Recent Actions: The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $274.44. Recent analyst moves include:
