Stock of the Day: Where is the Bottom for CoreWeave?

Benzinga·10/16/2026 13:40:03

CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV) shares are trading lower Friday. Analysts attribute the move to concerns over higher borrowing costs. The shares are nearing support. They are also oversold. These two conditions may set the stage for a move higher. This is why CoreWeave is the Stock of the Day.

Many trading strategies are based oo the concept of reversion to the mean. If a stock gets pushed to extremes in one direction, traders will enter the market anticipating a move back in the other direction.

For example, when investors and traders who are selling become emotional and begin to panic, they will push the shares below their typical trading range. When this happens, traders say the stock is oversold.

This draws buyers into the market. Their buying could push the shares higher.

The red line on the chart is two standard deviations below the 20-day moving average. According to statistics and probability theory, 95% of trading should occur within two standard deviations of the mean.

When a stock is below this threshold, as it is now, it is considered to be oversold.

CoreWeave is also nearing a support level. As you can see on the chart, the stock has found support around $61.

In financial markets, support tends to appear at prices that have supported before.

Some people sold around $61 in July and have regretted it ever since because the price is higher. Some of them vowed to buy their shares back if they could repurchase them at the same price they sold them for.

This means if CoreWeave reaches $61, they will place buy orders. If enough of these orders come in, they will create support at that level again.

CoreWeave is oversold. It is also close to support. These two conditions can set the stage for a reversal and move higher.
