Why Is Webull Stock Climbing on Tuesday?

Benzinga·10/20/2026 15:51:03

Webull Corporation (NASDAQ:BULL) stock moved higher on Tuesday after the online investment platform announced plans to offer perpetual futures to eligible U.S. customers starting in November. The Nasdaq is up 0.23% while the S&P 500 has gained 0.55%.

New Derivatives Expansion

The platform announced Tuesday that it will expand its derivatives offerings by granting U.S. traders access to perpetual futures. The initial rollout will focus on Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and select digital assets, with broader availability anticipated before year-end.

Partnership With KalshiEX

Webull’s perpetual futures contracts will be listed on KalshiEX LLC, a United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission-regulated Designated Contract Market and cleared through Kalshi Klear LLC, a CFTC-regulated Derivatives Clearing Organization.

Technical Analysis

Even with Tuesday’s bounce, BULL is still in a longer-term downtrend, down 46.56% over the past 12 months and trading below every major moving average. At $6.13, the stock is 8.1% below its 20-day SMA ($6.68), 22.3% below its 50-day SMA ($7.90), and 11.8% below its 200-day SMA ($6.95), which keeps rallies looking more like counter-trend moves until those levels are reclaimed.

The moving-average structure is mixed: the 20-day SMA is below the 50-day SMA (bearish near-term), but the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA after the golden cross in August. That combination often produces choppy "repair work" where the stock can bounce, but it still has to prove it can hold higher lows before the longer-term trend improves.

  • Key Resistance: $6.50 — a nearby round-number area where rebounds can stall before the stock even gets back to the 20-day averages
  • Key Support: $5.50 — a nearby floor that sits above the $4.50 52-week low zone, making it a key "line in the sand" if the bounce fails

Analyst Consensus and Upcoming Earnings

According to Benzinga, Webull has an Outperform consensus rating from two analysts, both of whom rate the stock a Buy. The average price forecast stands at $13, implying an upside of 111.4%. On Oct. 9, Scotiabank upgraded the stock to Sector Outperform while maintaining its $9 price forecast, while Rosenblatt reiterated its Buy rating but lowered its forecast to $12.

Looking ahead, Webull’s next major catalyst is its Nov. 19, earnings report (estimated). Analysts expect earnings per share of six cents, down from seven cents a year earlier, while revenue is projected to rise to $214.28 million from $156.94 million.

BULL Stock Price Activity: Webull shares are trading higher by 3.14% at $6.08 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
