Astera Labs Earnings Due Tonight: What Investors Need to Know

Benzinga·11/03/2026 14:19:03

Astera Labs Inc. (NASDAQ:ALAB) shares are in the spotlight Tuesday, with earnings due today after the close, the Scorpio ramp and gross margin in focus and a technical setup showing a pullback inside a broader uptrend all drawing attention.

Earnings Preview & History

Astera is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings today, Nov. 3, after the market closes. Analysts estimate earnings per share of $1.19 along with revenue of $550.80 million. For the prior quarter, Astera Labs reported adjusted earnings per share of 80 cents, beating the consensus estimate of 69 cents. The company also posted record revenue of $393.40 million, up 104% from a year earlier, beating the consensus estimate of $360.72 million.

What to Watch: Scorpio Ramp, Margins And Q4 Outlook

Investors will be closely tracking the Scorpio X-Series ramp. Astera guided to third-quarter revenue of $540 million to $560 million, about 40% sequential growth at the midpoint, as Scorpio becomes its largest product family one quarter earlier than expected, with more than 10 customers engaged on Scorpio X. Gross margin will also be in focus. Astera guided to about 72%, down from 73.7% in the second quarter, as its product mix changes, and the long-term target is 78%.

Operating leverage will draw attention too, with non-GAAP operating margin guided to about 43%, up 400 basis points, on operating expenses of $156 million to $160 million. Customer concentration is a risk, since Astera depends heavily on large hyperscalers and AI platform providers, so one customer slowing spending could cause volatility. The fourth-quarter outlook will matter most, along with updates on the expansion into optical interconnects and custom solutions that Astera said extends its growth into 2027.

Pullback Within a Broader Uptrend, With 200-Day Average in Focus

Astera is still in a longer-term uptrend over the past year, but the intermediate trend has cooled: at $238.10, the stock is trading 19.7% below its 20-day SMA ($299.88) and 21.6% below its 50-day SMA ($307.01). It’s also 26.8% below the 100-day SMA ($328.97) and 5.8% below the 200-day SMA ($255.51), which keeps the bigger-picture "line in the sand" close overhead.

The moving-average stack tells the story of a pullback inside a broader uptrend—20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA is a bearish near-term alignment, even though the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA (the golden cross that occurred in May). Practically, that means rallies can still run, but they often run into supply faster until price starts reclaiming those shorter averages.

For momentum, MACD is the cleaner read right now: it’s below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to fading upside pressure versus the prior upswing. In simple terms, MACD below the signal line suggests buyers haven’t fully regained control yet, so bulls typically want to see momentum rebuild before assuming the trend has flipped back up.

From a levels perspective, the 200-day SMA area is the most important nearby reference because it’s close enough to act like a magnet if the rebound continues, and a rejection there would reinforce the idea that this is still a corrective phase. The wider 52-week range ($97.89 low to $499.48 high) also highlights how volatile the name can be—June marked the 52-week high, while March marked the 52-week low, so swings can be fast once momentum returns.

  • Key Resistance: $255.51 — aligns with the 200-day SMA, a common "trend test" level during rebounds
