PETALING JAYA: UMediC Group Bhd’s net profit was down by 24% year-on-year (y-o-y) for the second quarter ended Jan 31, 2025 (2Q25).

For 2Q25, the medical devices maker’s earnings dropped to RM1.9mil from RM2.5mil in the corresponding quarter of the preceding year, translating to an earnings per share of 0.51 sen. Group revenue saw a 14% decrease y-o-y to RM11.6mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the decline in performance was due to lower demand for medical devices from both public and private hospitals as well as healthcare service providers.

UMediC said it remains optimistic on its future growth trajectory driven by factors like increasing demand for healthcare facility upgrades, healthcare tourism as well as the need to address facility overcrowding.
