Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) CEO Jim Farley says that the company experienced a 16% surge in sales in April ahead of May 5's earnings call with investors.

What Happened: "Customers have really responded to our From America, For America offer of employee pricing. Ford sales were up 16% in April." Farley took to the social media platform X to share the update on Thursday.

Farley also shared that the company's pickup truck division, which includes models like the F-150 and the Raptor, had the "best April sales in 25 years."

"Hybrids, Maverick and Bronco all set new records and Lincoln Motor Company had best April since 2007," Farley said in the post, highlighting what appears to be a strong month for the Detroit-based automaker.

Why It Matters: Farley's updates come in as Ford recently announced the company will be delaying the planned hike in price for its products. The company also extended its employee price program through July.

Ford manufactures over 80% of its vehicles domestically, which could give it an edge in the auto tariff uncertainty over competitors. However, Farley shared that the company was working closely with the Trump administration amid the incumbent's decision to alleviate some duties on the industry.

Ford also halted shipments of its products, like the F-150, Ford Mustang, as well as Bronco SUVs, among others, to China as U.S.-China trade tensions continue to rise and affect supply chains.
