PETALING JAYA: Sealink International Bhd has announced that access to its vessel that was damaged by fire in Brazil last month remains restricted due to prevailing site conditions.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the shipbuilding company said these access constraints have delayed a full on-site assessment of the vessel and the damage sustained.

“Our company has dispatched a team to the location together with the appointment of surveyors, to be physically on site so as to be able to be fully apprised of the situation, and the team is working in close coordination with the above mentioned local parties to gain access as soon as conditions permit.

“There are no reported casualties, and the vessel continues to operate under a bareboat charter arrangement.”

Given the restricted access and ongoing investigations, the company said there has been no further material developments to report, adding that the vessel is covered by Hull & Machinery insurance.
