Duopharma’s capacity set to expand

KUALA LUMPUR: Duopharma Biotech Bhd expects the additional capacity from its new K3 facility in Klang to be fully utilised over the next three years, analysts say.

With the commissioning of the K3 facility, Duopharma’s manufacturing capacity has increased by some 50%.

According to TA Research, Duopharma’s management noted that 90% of its products have been successfully transferred from the old K1 plant which was originally built in the 1980s to the newly operational K3 facility.

“The current utilisation levels at the K3 facility have already exceeded expectations, driven by new contracts.

“Looking ahead, Duopharma plans to expand its small volume injectables line at its K2 facility and develop a biological plant at the upcoming K5 site over the next few years,” the research house said.
