VS Industry MD Gan Sem Yam becomes substantial shareholder in RM14.8mil off-market deal

KUALA LUMPUR: VS Industry Bhd’s managing director Datuk Gan Sem Yam has emerged as a substantial shareholder of after acquiring 29 million shares through an off-market deal.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the integrated electronics manufacturing services provider said the 29 million shares were acquired on Oct 2 at 51.1 sen apiece, valuing the transaction at about RM14.82mil.

The purchase lifted Gan’s direct stake to 192.08 million shares, or 4.98%. His indirect interest remains at 26.21 million shares, or 0.68%.

VS Industry traded unchanged at 60 sen, with 149.27 million shares changing hands.
