MIDA, MRCB ink MoU to boost central region investment ecosystem

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic collaboration under the MIDA Gears Up for Flagship Central Region Programme 2025.

MRCB said the MoU, exchanged between MIDA chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid and MRCB group managing director Datuk Imran Salim, was witnessed by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

Initiated by MIDA, the partnership aims to strengthen Malaysia’s investment ecosystem in the Central Region, covering Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, by linking policy to on-ground implementation.

Under the partnership, MIDA drives investment promotion while MRCB handles on-ground execution to turn opportunities into high-impact industrial and technology developments.

Through its “Build-and-Lease” model, MRCB provides investors with ready infrastructure, faster delivery, and smooth regulatory support, allowing them to start operations with minimal upfront cost.

Through this collaboration, MIDA’s investment promotion expertise combines with MRCB’s track record in large-scale, sustainable development to create an integrated platform that helps investors identify, locate, and execute projects more efficiently.

“Together, we’re streamlining investor facilitation, catalysing public–private collaboration and shaping the next generation of industrial and technology ecosystems — driving forward Malaysia’s ambition for an innovation-driven, sustainable economy,” MRCB said.
