KUALA LUMPUR: Glostrext Bhd, which delivered its strongest quarterly revenue and profit in the second quarter ended Sept 30 (2Q26), remains cautiously optimistic about its performance for the financial year ending March 31, 2026 (FY26).

The geotechnical instrumentation and testing service provider expects demand for geotechnical instrumentation and pile testing services to remain healthy, supported by ongoing public and private sector developments in Singapore and Malaysia.

“The company will continue to advance its WiNA-platform-based solutions, including the WiNA-aMLT introduced earlier this year, and broaden their adoption across more job sites. These digital and automated solutions are expected to enhance scalability, efficiency and data integration across projects,” it said in a statement.

Additionally, it said ongoing work on major infrastructure projects in Singapore, including the Changi Airport Terminal 5 development, continues to underpin earnings visibility.

Meanwhile, contributions from several data centre projects in Malaysia are expected to strengthen as construction progresses.

“Glostrext also anticipates a gradual improvement in the profitability of Powertecs through enhanced marketing efforts and new customer acquisitions, with the segment expected to develop into a stable earnings contributor over time.”

In 2Q26, Glostrext’s net profit rose to RM3.48mil, or 0.85 sen per share, compared with RM802,000, or 0.20 sen per share, in the previous corresponding quarter, lifting its first-half profit to more than double at RM6.4mil, or 1.55 sen per share, from RM3.1mil a year earlier.

Quarterly revenue rose 128.1% to RM16.48mil from RM7.23mil, bringing first-half revenue to RM30.9mil, up 91.3% from RM16.1mil previously.

Managing director Ir. Dr. Lee Sieng Kai said the stronger performance was driven by higher project volume in pile instrumentation and static load testing.

It was also supported by improved productivity and resource deployment, as well as sustained demand from infrastructure projects in Singapore and rising activity in Malaysia’s technology-related construction sector.

“Our 2Q results reflect the strength of our core capabilities, supported by disciplined execution of projects in both Singapore and Malaysia. The integration of Powertecs has also broadened our revenue base and created new cross-selling opportunities,” he said in a statement.
