KUALA LUMPUR: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd said its net profit in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025, rose to RM32.22mil from RM28.05mil in the same quarter in 2024, underpinned by higher revenue and lower operating expenses.

Earnings per share in 3QFY25 rose to seven sen against 6.1 sen in the previous comparative quarter.

The board of directors declared a third interim dividend of four sen per share with entitlement date on Dec 8, 2025, and payable on Dec 22, 2025.

In a results statement, the port operator said operating revenue rose a slight 0.82% year-on-year to RM204.43mil due to the handling of cargoes and vessel calls for LNG, petchem methanol and manganese.

It added there was a shortfall in revenue from supply base activities.

Meanwhile, there was a lower quarterly expenditure of RM175.12mil compared to RM178.61mil in the year-ago quarter, due to lower expenses incurred on the supply base activities.

For the nine-month period, Bintulu Port registered a net profit of RM95.34mil against a net profit of RM112.6mil in the year-ago period. Revenue in 9MFY25 dipped to RM600.96mil from RM608.34mil in the previous comparative period.

Moving forward, the company said it expects the handling of LNG vessel calls and cargo to remains its main revenue contributor.

It said positive contributions are also expected from the handling of Samalaju cargoes and methanol vessel calls.
