PETALING JAYA: WCE Holdings Bhd, the owner of the West Coast Expressway, described its second-quarter net loss, which more than doubled to RM26.4mil, as “normal” at this stage of a concession business.

The net loss for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 ballooned from RM10.58mil in the previous corresponding quarter, primarily due to increased interest expenses and amortisation charges following the opening of additional completed sections of the expressway.

Currently, eight out of 11 sections are already operational, covering 180km across Selangor and Perak.

Overall revenue, however, improved by 2.06% to RM154.28mil in the second quarter under review, amid stronger contributions from toll collection and construction activities.

For the cumulative six-month period, the group’s revenue more than doubled to RM548.1mil, while net loss was registered higher at RM51.72mil.
