In November, the development scale index was 646, up 6% year on year. Judging from the sub-indicators, in November, China's annual express delivery business volume exceeded 180 billion units for the first time, surpassing the full year level of 2024. During the “Double 11" period (October 21 to November 11), express delivery companies strongly guaranteed e-commerce promotion and supported the flow of products. A total of 13.938 billion express parcels were collected, with an average daily sales volume of 634 million pieces, which was 117.8% of the daily business volume. The peak daily business volume reached 777 million units, another record high. In mid-late November, the industry deeply served the “Black Five Promotion”, “Ice and Snow Economy” and the rise in agricultural specialty products, and the scale of business continued to remain high.
In November, the service quality index was 661.3, an increase of 1.9 percentage points over the previous year. Judging from the sub-indicators, public satisfaction with express delivery services is expected to be 85.4 points, an increase of 1.4 points over the previous year. The 72-hour turnaround rate for key regions is expected to be 86.7%, an increase of 2.4 percentage points over the previous year. In November, the industry strengthened multi-scenario technology empowerment to improve the quality and efficiency of the whole chain of services. First, smart devices are widely used. Express delivery companies are stepping up the application of smart equipment, moving from improving the quality and efficiency of a single link to improving the efficiency of the entire network industry chain. Actively promote large-scale use of unmanned vehicles, smart express boxes, and mobile courier cabinets at the terminal to ensure that consumers can pick up items flexibly. A tonnage eVTOL test flight was carried out on the Yungui Plateau, which greatly broke through the bottleneck of logistics timelines in mountainous areas. In the main fruit and fishery production areas, temporary transit sites and mobile refrigeration facilities have been added, and automated sorting equipment and thermostatic temperature control systems have been installed to enable agricultural specialty products to leave the village. Second, supply chain support capabilities have been enhanced. Express delivery companies enhance multi-industry collaborative development capabilities and upgrade from product delivery to supply chain services. Launch the Ezhou Pharmaceutical E-commerce Aviation Logistics Center to speed up the construction of an efficient pharmaceutical supply chain system covering the whole country and help solve the medication problems of patients in remote areas. The Suzhou Wujiang storage base was put into operation to create a high-end warehousing solution integrating constant temperature and humidity storage, full-process visual management and intelligent operation to promote the integrated development of fashion retail and smart logistics. Third, the level of professional services has been steadily improving. Express delivery companies comprehensively apply technical equipment such as mobile service vehicles, unmanned delivery vehicles, and human-robot collaborative smart sorting to ensure the smooth running of events such as the National Games and Marathon.
In November, the express delivery development capacity index was 266.4, which is basically the same as the same period last year. In November, the industry network was extended and the peak season guarantee capacity was enhanced. First, infrastructure continues to be strengthened. Express delivery companies put into operation facilities such as cold chain warehouses in Inner Mongolia and the Shishi International Supply Chain Service Center to strengthen the construction of global professional market infrastructure and promote the deep integration of domestic and international business. Second, the main line capacity continues to increase. Industry-owned airlines have added all international freighter routes such as “Zhuhai=Delhi” and “Zhengzhou=Tokyo”, and have joined forces with Kunming Airport to open regular international cargo routes to Istanbul. Express delivery companies launched “Guangzhou-Wuhan” high-speed rail express mass transportation, and the construction of a “high-speed rail+warehouse network+terminal” full-link time-sensitive network was accelerated. Third, cross-border business is expanding steadily. Express delivery companies have improved their service capabilities in overseas markets, opened special cross-border parcel lines in Africa, and introduced unmanned delivery vehicles in Saudi Arabia. The level of cross-border compliance has improved, and the ability to guarantee overseas year-end promotions such as the “Black Five” has gradually increased.
In November, the development trend index was 60.3. Express delivery companies efficiently support multi-platform and long-term major promotion activities, providing key support for promoting consumption upgrading and real economic growth. It is expected that in December, the industry will maintain a positive development trend and achieve a successful end to the year.
