Brookfield Asset Management and Qatar Investment Authority are teaming up to launch a $20 billion joint venture to invest in artificial intelligence infrastructure. According to a statement released on Tuesday, Brookfield and QIA's newly established subsidiary QAI will jointly fund AI infrastructure in Qatar and some international markets. Brookfield will invest through its newly established AI fund. With assets under management of around $1 trillion, Brookfield has been one of the most active foreign investors in the Gulf region in recent years. The company estimates that global AI infrastructure construction will require an investment of 7 trillion US dollars over the next ten years. The Middle East's major sovereign wealth funds collectively control trillions of dollars in assets, making them a key force driving this process.
