In response to the question of the frequency of adjustments to the medical insurance drug catalogue, Huang Xinyu, director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Administration of the National Health Insurance Administration, gave a clear response at the 2025 Medical Insurance Drug Catalogue Interpretation Conference on December 9: the catalogue will maintain the pace of dynamic adjustment once a year. Huang Xinyu said that since its establishment eight years ago, the National Health Insurance Administration has been making adjustments to the medical insurance drug catalogue for eight consecutive years. We will continue to adhere to this approach in the future, mainly based on two considerations: first, to better meet changing clinical diagnosis and treatment needs and adapt to the development of disease spectrums; second, to incorporate the results of advances in pharmaceutical science and technology in a timely manner, so that more new drugs and good drugs can benefit patients.
