09:52 AM EST, 12/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- WPP (WPP.L) and a subsidiary won contracts to manage the British government's advertising campaigns, a notice on the UK tender website showed Monday. The parent group bagged a 24 million-pound contract, while Wavemaker secured a 1.80 billion-pound deal. Contracts will be signed Dec. 18 at the earliest amid an eight-day standstill period ending Dec. 17. The UK Times reported an unnamed source as saying that the ad agency's plan will be "audience-led" and social media-focused. The paper also said the four-year contract previously held by US-based Omnicom is a vote of confidence for WPP amid its profit warnings and an ongoing strategic review focused on returning the company to growth. The British ad agency told MT Newswires it had nothing to add to the matter.
