On December 9, local time, Polish Prime Minister Tusk announced that the European Union has approved aid for the construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant and provided an initial funding of 4 billion zlotys. Tusk said that the total investment for the project has reached 60 billion zlotys, and the project will begin as soon as the first batch of funds is received. He hoped that the project would enter the substantive construction phase in a stable and efficient manner, “so that electricity from Poland's first nuclear power plant can be delivered everywhere as soon as possible.”
