The US Department of Defense said it has selected Alphabet's Gemini for Government system to provide artificial intelligence capabilities to its approximately 3 million civilian and military personnel. “The future of American combat has arrived; its name is artificial intelligence,” US Secretary of Defense Hegseth said in a video posted by X on Tuesday, adding that the software will help the military quickly analyze videos and images. The Pentagon said in a statement that the new platform, called Genai.mil, aims to drive “AI-driven cultural change that will dominate the digital battlefield for years to come.”
