Wu Gang, director of the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education, explained that in the past three years, thanks to the joint efforts of departments, localities, universities and enterprises, outstanding engineer training reforms have made positive progress. Currently, schools and enterprises have jointly recruited and trained nearly 26,000 Master of Engineering students. More than 2,000 of them have graduated and taken up jobs. For the first time, an organized, structured, large-scale school-enterprise joint training of Master of Engineering has been achieved, and an effective path for independent training of national strategic talents has been explored. Break the traditional engineering talent training model of colleges and universities, adopt the school-enterprise council responsibility system to build 50 national outstanding engineer colleges; build 4 national outstanding engineer innovation institutes in Beijing, Shanghai, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; support 50 universities, enterprises, and national laboratories to jointly establish a training consortium for outstanding Chinese engineers to build a new talent training platform with deep integration of industry, education and research.
