On December 10, the International Monetary Fund completed the 2025 Article IV consultation visit to China. The IMF expects China's economy to grow by 5.0% and 4.5% in 2025 and 2026, respectively. Compared with the October “World Economic Outlook”, the above forecasts were raised by 0.2 and 0.3 percentage points, respectively. The main reason is that China has adopted welcome macroeconomic stimulus measures and that US tariffs on China are lower than expected.
