04:44 AM EST, 12/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The General Court of the European Union dismissed Irish budget airline Ryanair's (RYA.IR) challenge of the European Commission's approval of a 2.55 billion-euro restructuring aid to TAP Air Portugal. In a ruling released Wednesday, the court said the commission established that the Portuguese carrier was eligible for restructuring aid. "Furthermore, it could not be alleged that the Commission had carried out an incomplete examination of the negative effects of the aid measure at issue. Nor was there any breach of the principles of non-discrimination, freedom to provide services and freedom of establishment. The General Court also rejects Ryanair's claim that the decision was not adequately reasoned," the court added.
