The Danish intelligence agency listed the US as a potential security risk for the first time, marking a significant shift in the country's views on its close ally, behind the growing geopolitical friction surrounding Greenland. The Danish Defense Intelligence Service stated in the “2025 Intelligence Outlook” released on Wednesday that the US is “increasingly prioritizing its own interests and beginning to use its economic and technical strength as a tool of power, and even against allies and partners.” In particular, the report emphasizes that due to increased competition among major powers in the Arctic region, America's interest in Greenland has increased markedly. “The US is using economic power to impose its will, and the use of force against allies is no longer ruled out,” the report said.
