09:41 AM EST, 12/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL.L, SHELL.AS) plans to end its joint ownership of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium venture with sanctioned Russian oil company Rosneft, according to a Wednesday Bloomberg News report. Through the venture, the UK-based oil and gas major has a shareholding in an oil pipeline from Kazakhstan, people with knowledge of the matter told the news outlet. Shell, however, reportedly intends to retain its interest in the broader CPC project, in which it holds a 7.4% stake with its Rosneft joint venture, according to CPC's website. The news comes amid speculation that Russia is looking to amend the shareholding structure of the CPC project, Bloomberg noted. Shell, Rosneft and Caspian Pipeline Consortium did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
