CRG and Kenter Capital have started construction on Chapter Alder, a 15-story, 491-bed student housing high-rise adjacent to the University of Oregon campus.

Located at the intersection of 13th Avenue and Alder Street, Chapter Alder will include 133 fully furnished units in a mix of studio, one-, two-, four- and five-bedroom floor plans. Each residence will be appointed with tech-forward finishes and feature stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry and high-speed internet.

Chapter Alder is being developed in partnership with Kenter Capital and was designed by LJC, a subsidiary of Clayco. Its first floor includes 2,200 square feet of retail space.

“Given that developable land near campus is in extremely short supply and student enrollment has grown to over 24,000 — with fewer than 6,000 on-campus beds and nearly half of students coming from out of state — the demand for quality student housing has never been stronger,” said J.J. Smith, executive vice president and partner at CRG.
