The Asian Development Bank announced that it has approved a loan of 1.07 billion yuan to help Xianning in Hubei Province promote the development of a low-carbon, resilient city. The project will build a new public transportation infrastructure and digital information system; lay a new water supply network to solve the water problems of more than 115,000 households; and build or repair non-motorized lanes and drainage infrastructure in accordance with the concept of “avoiding repeated excavation and rebuilding a better future”. The project will also establish a low-emission zone in the ancient city of Chibi and introduce electric buses and electric cruise ships to meet daily commuting and sightseeing needs.
