07:44 AM EST, 12/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Financial Conduct Authority imposed a 44 million-pound-sterling penalty on Nationwide Building Society (NBS.L) for its alleged financial crime control failures. Between October 2016 and July 2021, the financial services company had "ineffective" systems in place for its personal current account customers, according to a Friday notice. Nationwide would have received a 63 million-pound fine but qualified for a 30% discount after agreeing to settle the matter.
