According to Turkey's Anadolu News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on the 13th that the Black Sea should not become a “confrontation zone” between Russia and Ukraine. After attending the “International Year of Peace and Trust Forum” in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Erdogan told media reporters on a special flight back to Turkey: “The Black Sea should not be viewed as a confrontational region. This is not good for Russia or Ukraine. The Black Sea requires a safe navigation environment.” Erdogan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin while attending the “International Year of Peace and Trust Forum” on the 12th. During the meeting, Erdogan suggested that Russia and Ukraine implement a “limited cease-fire” on each other's energy and port facilities, saying the move would benefit both Russia and Ukraine.
