According to court documents, Israel's Supreme Court issued a ruling on Sunday rejecting the government's motion to dismiss the Attorney General. In March of this year, the Cabinet launched a vote of no confidence against Gali Baharav-Miara, citing major differences between the government and the Attorney General. The Attorney General was appointed by the previous administration. However, a full panel of seven Supreme Court judges said on Sunday that the established mechanism for dismissing the Attorney General cannot be changed, and therefore ruled that the cabinet's vote of no confidence was invalid.
