On Sunday night, a father and son shot at Jews gathered to celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach, killing 16 people and leading to the deadliest terrorist attack in Australian history. NSW Police Chief Mal Lanyon confirmed Monday that the suspects were a 50-year-old father and his 24-year-old son from the western suburbs of the city. Citing law enforcement sources, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation said the names of the two gunmen were Naveed Akram and his father Sajid, respectively. Lanyon said his father, who died in the shooting, had a gun for 10 years and had a license for six weapons. Police have seized six guns from the scene and are satisfied. Lanyon also said that police have also discovered two effective improvised explosive devices and have safely dismantled them. The police are no longer looking for a third offender.
