Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Licensed two L3 autonomous driving model products, Changan Automobile (000625.SZ) and BAIC Blue Valley Magna

(000625.SZ) and BAIC Blue Valley Magna Automobile Co., Ltd. submitted applications for admission to intelligent connected vehicle products equipped with L3 level conditional autonomous driving functions to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. According to the “Administrative Measures on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Product Entry Management Measures” and other relevant regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has conditionally licensed related products in the 401st batch of “Notice”. The first is the Changan SC7000AAARBEV pure electric sedan, which can achieve autonomous driving functions (maximum speed 50 km/h) on motorways and urban expressways in traffic jams. Second, the Jihu brand BJ7001A61NBEV is a pure electric sedan, which can achieve autonomous driving functions (maximum speed 80km/h) in motorways and urban expressways.

Our department approved two L3 autonomous driving model products

Recently, two automobile companies, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. and BAIC Blue Valley Magna Automobile Co., Ltd. submitted applications for admission to intelligent connected vehicle products equipped with L3 level conditional autonomous driving functions to our department. According to the “Administrative Measures on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Product Entry Management Measures” and other relevant regulations, our department conditionally licensed the relevant products in the 401st batch of “Notice”.

First, the Changan SC7000AAARBEV pure electric sedan can achieve autonomous driving functions (maximum speed 50km/h) on motorways and urban expressways in traffic jams. Currently, this function is limited to the Chongqing Inner Ring Expressway, the New Inner Ring Expressway (Gaotanyan Interchange - Laijiaqiao Interchange), and Yudu Avenue (Renren Interchange - Airport Interchange).

Second, the Jihu BJ7001A61 NBEV is a pure electric sedan, which can achieve autonomous driving functions (maximum speed 80km/h) on motorways and urban expressways. Currently, this function is limited to the Beijing-Taiwan Expressway (Jiugong Xinqiao in Daxing District - Airport North Line Expressway), Airport North Line Expressway (Daquan Nanqiao - Daxing Airport Expressway), and Daxing Airport Expressway (South 6th Ring Road - Airport North Line Expressway).

Earlier, our department, together with relevant departments, studied and formulated work plans, prepared guidance documents, organized expert teams, and carried out preliminary reviews, merit selection, testing and safety assessments in strict accordance with the requirements of the “Notice on Launching Pilot Work on Intelligent Connected Vehicle Access and Road Traffic”. The two automobile companies have completed and passed product tests and safety assessments as required.

In the next step, the two models will be piloted by two users from Chongqing Changan Auto Connect Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Chuxing Auto Service Co., Ltd. in the above areas. Our department will work with relevant departments and local authorities to strengthen vehicle operation monitoring and safety assurance, summarize experiences in a timely manner, continuously improve the intelligent connected vehicle entry management and standard regulation system, and promote the high-quality development of China's intelligent connected NEV industry.
