Finnish Refiner Neste Delays Climate Targets by Five Years

06:06 AM EST, 12/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Neste (NESTE.HE) said Monday it delayed some of its climate targets after "a careful assessment" showed that its financial position will not allow for further investments to meet the "required significant investments." Aside from delaying by five years its interim target of 50% emission reduction to 2035, the Finnish sustainable aviation fuel and diesel producer changed its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 80% to 2040 from 2035 to reach carbon-neutral production. On the other hand, Neste maintained two of its targets on reducing the use-phase emission intensity of sold products and those emitted by customers.
