The Chinese Embassy in the UK issued a statement: On December 15, British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development Cooper issued a statement blatantly blatantly discrediting the Lai Chi-ying case, slandering and discrediting Hong Kong's National Security Law. This is a gross interference in China's internal affairs, a flagrant violation of the spirit of the rule of law, and a serious violation of the basic rules of international relations. We strongly oppose and strongly condemn the British side's unreasonable practices. Hong Kong has long since returned to China, and the British colonial rule over Hong Kong has long since ended. Hong Kong affairs are solely an internal affair of China. The British side has no right or right to dictate or interfere in Hong Kong affairs. The British side's attempt to interfere in Hong Kong's administration of justice will only further reveal its intention to disrupt Hong Kong; it will only stir up common hatred and rivalry in Hong Kong society; it will only end in failure. We strongly urge the British side to immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong's administration of justice, stop interfering in China's internal affairs, stop harboring anti-Chinese riots in Hong Kong, and not go further and further along the wrong path.
