08:29 AM EST, 12/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Office of Communications, or Ofcom, on Monday launched an investigation into BT Group (BT-A.L) and Hutchinson 3G UK, d/b/a Three UK, for summer outages that caused a nationwide disruption for mobile call services, including emergency services. The regulator said BT's software issue affected BT and EE customers July 24-25, while Three UK faced an incident June 25 that impacted its services. Ofcom will probe whether the companies had implemented appropriate measures to prevent network failures, and the facts surrounding the two incidents.
