The European Commission and the Dutch government held a meeting in The Hague, the Netherlands on the 16th and initiated the establishment of the “Ukrainian International Claims Commission” to handle claims against Russia for losses caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Leaders and senior representatives from more than 50 countries attended the conference, including Council of Europe Secretary General Alan Berse, Ukrainian President Zelensky, Moldovan President Sandu, and Dutch Prime Minister Schoff. Thirty-five countries and the European Union have signed a convention establishing the “Ukrainian International Claims Commission”. The Convention will officially enter into force on the assumption that at least 25 signatory parties have completed ratification and that sufficient funds have been secured to support the initial operation of the “Ukrainian International Claims Commission”. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Zakharova said in September this year that the decision to establish such a committee would lead to a further escalation of “legal aggression” against Russia.
