UK Competition Regulator Accepts Greencore Undertakings for Bakkavor Acquisition

02:46 AM EST, 12/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority said Wednesday it accepted Greencore Group's (GNC.L) undertakings related to its acquisition of prepared food products maker Bakkavor Group (BAKK.L). Consequently, the regulator will not refer the deal for a phase 2 probe and the undertakings are effective immediately. Following a phase 1 merger inquiry launched in September, the UK CMA on Oct. 27 determined that the transaction could impact market competition. The parties then offered undertakings in November.
