Moody's Revises Outokumpu Outlook to Negative on Weaker-than-Expected Earnings

05:25 AM EST, 12/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Moody's changed its outlook on Outokumpu (OUT1V.HE) to negative from stable, citing the company's weaker-than-expected earnings in the past two years due to a challenging operating environment. The rating agency on Wednesday also affirmed the Finnish stainless steel producer's corporate family rating at Ba2 as it expects a gradual recovery in demand and its earnings. Additionally, Moody's noted the company could benefit from the European Commission's efforts to reduce import penetration, as well as the carbon border adjustment mechanism.
