In order to accelerate the deep integration of digital technology and agriculture and promote the high-quality development of modern agriculture in Shanxi, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued the “Shanxi Smart Agriculture Action Plan”. Focusing on the set goals, Shanxi Province will implement three key tasks, namely smart agriculture public service capacity improvement actions, application expansion actions in key areas of smart agriculture, and smart agriculture demonstration drive actions. The plan proposes that by the end of 2026, smart agriculture public service capabilities will be initially formed in Shanxi Province, and a number of intelligent solutions and smart farm technology models to increase large-scale yield of major crops will be launched, and the agricultural production informatization rate will reach more than 30%. By the end of 2028, the public service capacity of smart agriculture was greatly improved, a provincial agricultural and rural big data platform was basically completed, the area of smart farmland was expanded, the digital planting technology scheme for major crops was basically mature, the level of intelligent facility agriculture was further improved, the digitization of the seed industry was gradually progressing, and the informatization rate of agricultural production reached more than 32%. By the end of 2030, a smart agricultural technology application system covering the whole province will be built, intelligent machinery and equipment and smart technology models will be promoted on a large scale, and smart application scenarios will be built for key crops, important fields, and key links, and strive to reach an informatization rate of agricultural production of about 35%.
