On December 18, the left and right main beams of the Lanyu-Chongqing Railway Bridge were connected to the main bridge at the millimeter level on the Chengnan Expressway Capacity Expansion Project, and the rotation was successful. The bridge has a double swivel weight of 20,000 tons and a maximum swivel height of 49.4 meters. It is the highest pier-bottom swivel T-structure bridge in China. According to information, the Lanyu Railway is busy, carrying more than 110 passenger and cargo trains every day. The bridge crosses the Lanyu Railway. In order to reduce the impact of construction on railway operations, the project team carried out rotation work during the “skylight period” in the early hours of the morning. An intelligent real-time visual monitoring system for bridge rotation was introduced on site to monitor various parameters in real time through digital twin technology to ensure accurate and safe rotation. The Chengnan Expressway expansion project is an important part of the G42 Shanghai-Rong Expressway in the country's “ten vertical and ten horizontal” integrated transportation corridors. The total length exceeds 240 kilometers. It is the largest in-situ expansion of existing highways in situ and the longest mileage expansion project in Sichuan Province. After completion, the project will become an important channel connecting the two cities of Chengdu and Chongqing, which is of great significance in promoting regional economic development. The completion of the turnaround project laid a solid foundation for the completion and opening of the entire Chengnan Expressway capacity expansion project by the end of this year.
