The Thai military issued a statement on the 18th saying that 21 Thai soldiers and 21 civilians have died as a result of this round of conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. Thai Army Deputy Spokesman Richa Suvaron said at a press conference on the same day that judging from the overall situation, Thailand has taken control of several key points in the border area. Currently, the fire points of the First Military Region are mainly located at three locations in Shajiao Province. Most of these areas are flat areas close to civilian areas; the main fire points in the Second Military Region are Tagui Temple and two key strategic locations. In response to reports of an attack on the Cambodian side of a casino building, Rita clarified that Thailand has not issued policies or instructions to attack civilian targets or non-military targets. The relevant action was carried out because it was verified that the building in question was used as a weapons warehouse for the Cambodian army. Richa stressed that the military's top priority right now is to ensure the safety of Thai people in the border area.
