On December 19, 2025, the 5th Sino-Australian Strategic Economic Dialogue was successfully held in video format. Zheng Zhajie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Australian Treasury Secretary Chalmers attended and delivered the opening speech. During the dialogue, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as the global economic outlook, the macroeconomic situation between China and Australia, and investment policies and trends between China and Australia. Zheng Zhajie said that China and Australia are important investment sources and destinations, and restarting the China-Australia Investment Working Group will help the two sides strengthen communication and deepen investment cooperation. We hope Australia will provide a fair, transparent and predictable business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest in Australia. Australian companies are welcome to actively invest in China and jointly expand the cake of win-win cooperation between China and Australia.
