US Secretary of State Rubio said that the US does not want to impose a cease-fire agreement on Ukraine, adding that the Trump administration is still uncertain whether Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to reach an agreement or is planning to take over the entire country. Rubio said he may attend talks in Miami this weekend, when special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to meet Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev. He said that the goal of the talks was to determine whether the two countries have common claims. “It's completely nonsense to think we're trying to impose something on Ukraine,” Rubio said. “We're just trying to find out if there's a consensus that can be achieved, and maybe that's not possible.”
