According to the results of a public opinion survey released on December 22, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating for the administration was 53.4%. The poll was commissioned by South Korea's “Energy Economy News” and conducted for 2,521 voters aged 18 and above from December 15 to 19. The results showed that Lee Jae-ming's approval rating for the administration fell 0.9 percentage points from the previous week. According to an analysis by the polling agency Realmeter, “Although open administration initiatives such as the 'Live Policy Report' launched by President Lee Jae-myung were evaluated as extremely innovative communication attempts, some unresolved issues dealt with disputes and became factors that dragged down approval ratings in the short term.” Realmeter added, “In addition to the above incident, disputes over the response to the Coupang incident and the uncertainty about people's livelihood and economy caused by the exchange rate of the won against the US dollar breaking through the 1,480 won mark are also factors that have led to the decline in approval ratings.”
