Using the James Webb Space Telescope, scientists at the University of Chicago in the United States discovered a peculiar exoplanet shaped like a lemon - PSR J2322-2650b. The planet's atmosphere is rich in carbon molecules, and the surface temperature is extremely high. It is very different from any planet currently known, challenging existing theories of planet formation. The relevant paper was published in the new issue of “Astrophysics Journal Express”.
